Leonard 2009 Review/Feedback

Academic
1) He is now in the best class in his school.

ECA
i) He is in scouts and golf, which keeps him active and busy. although that puts demands on this time.

Comment
i) The above was done without any tuition except for english & chinese.
ii) He still did ok for his science, maths

Overall
i) Shows that he can do well if he wants to .

Biggest problem
I) His attitude towards study.
2) Look at this blog which shows it .
i) Do the minimal, shortest review article
ii) Study. Tough maths question. He protest even as i force him to know how to
do instead of being thankful.
iii) Blog - not conscientiously done.

3) If he can change his attitude, he will do well , and he will also have more time to play and probably find studying less tedious.

A) He can do without tuition so long as he is conscientious.
After each chapter :
i) Do mindmap / Do exercises
ii) Dare to ask questions, what he doesnt know.

B) Mindmap
i) Can be done whilst teacher is teaching in class.
ii) Will make it easy for him to revise and at end of chapter, can use it to answer assessment questions.

This will be the most effective for learning his study subjects ie science.

C) When i teach him, all i did was :
i) Let him do assessment to find out what he doesnt know (isnt that a waste of time if he can tell me instead, or refer me to questions he cant answer in class ?)

ii) Teach him and make sure he knows. depend on subject, in some cases, ask him to do mindmap, whilst for others , got him to do assessment books.

D) He needs to think about it. Use his knowledge learn in Adam Khoo's class to improve.

leonard - week 1 2009

Thursday night

i) Raise voice, upset over being asked to play on Saturday instead of friday, claiming that he will be too tired to play.

2) Tell mummy simply that he doesnt want to do chinese tuition homework when REmIndEd.

Past few nights, has been saying tired and went to sleep after barely doing any work.

Question :
i) If he is too tired to play, wont he be too tired to study on Saturday ?

ii) If he goes to sleep on weekdays, then play on friday. Saturday night also resting. He is left with Sunday to study.

iii) If cant do tuition homework, then why bother about having tuition.

ii) He needs to put up a plan which includes :
- time slots reserved for ECA activities
- time slots reserve for tuition
- time slots reserved for school and tuition homework.
- time slots reserveed for subjects without tuition ie physics.
- shows that he has discipline to stick with it

Leonard - 2009 Jan

1) Allocated a room for each of them to take care of. Leonard is suppose to tidy up the study room before he goes to bed. His brothers are pointing to him . His mother is saying that we should not have a maid, else Leonard will continue to be so reliant on not do anything. Will he cause the whole arrangment to fall apart again ?

2) Never write his blog consistently, highlighting how he has spent his time and for 5 articles he has read and comments. ( quite alright in this case as he has now inculate the habbit of reading papers every day.)

3) Still haven't get him to plan. Put forth his 2009 resolution.
