"Treeman Man" may be denied treatment

Indonesia has barred a villager dubbed the "Tree Man" for huge bark-like warts growing on his body from traveling to United States to receive treatment. Woody growths cover 32-year-old Dede's hand in root-like tendrils that leave him unable to work.The villagers are not given permission to bring DeDe to the US.

Quake in Indonesia

A 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Indonesia's Sumbawa island yesterday, killing three, injuring 55 and damaging hundreds of home. Building collapsed in Dompu and Bima district, some resident gather to high ground fearing tsunami. In Bima,a radio annoucer broadcasting when the quake struck jumped from the five-storey studio building in panic,badly injuring himself.

Motorist hurt as scaffolding collapses

Scaffolding at a construction site along Selegie road collapsed yesterday afternoon, injuring a passing motorist.The driver, belived to be in his 40s, escaped with minor cuts on his finger. One eyewitness said that several metal pole approximately 1.7m in length fell from the 12-storey project known as Wikie Edge, smashing the car's windsheild and denting its roof.

Cambodia survivors come home

17 members of the dragon boat team arrived at Changi Airport on flight M1601.
