Taxi driver's quick thinking help nab theif
Quick scribbling of the car licence plate number and a call to the police was all it took to nab a member of snatch-theft gang. The prompt reaction of 53-year-old taxi driver Choo Lye Seng led police to the driver of the gang's gateway car and recover $3,000 belonging to an apparel shop. The money was $17,000, which was in a bag carried by a 20-year-old employee on her way to deposit it with a bank on Wednesday. As the victim walked past Wheelock Place at about 11am, a dark-complexioned man grabbed the bag and fled.
