First human cases of bird flu in Myanmar, Pakistan
The World Health Organisation yesterday praised Asian countries for swiftly reporting the latest bird-flu cases, after Pakistan announced its first human death and Myanmar revealed it first human case. Pakistan authorities said on Saturday a man who culled infected birds had died, becoming the country first human fatality. Meanwhile, a seven-year-old girl become Myanmar first confirmed human case, although she had since been discharged from hospital after showing signs of recovery.
