Was lawmaker killed for quitting Abu Sayyaf

A congressman killed in bombing outside the Philippine legislature was an Al Qaeda-linked militants before he switched sides to support an offensive against the group.But it was not clear if the blast was revenge for that betrayal, officials said yesterday.Police said Mr Akbar, appeared to have been the target of the remotely detonated explosion,which shattered one of the entrances to the House of Representative after a session had ended.
